We are very proud to announce a successful start of our launch within the cruise market sector. VXcruise, our end-to-end passenger journey experience, is on board of Mein Schiff 6 - TUI’s newest cruise ship and more installs are expected in the future!
VXcruise is an infotainment system which integrates a multitude of passenger-interest data. This includes detailed information about activities & hotspots on shore, the safety instructions and program of the day on board, a highly-detailed 3D model of the cruise liner as well as features such as the ability to zoom in or out on the detailed satellite map showing the vessel’s itinerary and the possibility to click on other ships within a fleet providing inspiration for future holiday plans, destinations and much more.
It also provides a total end-to-end passenger journey solution. On the cruise company’s website, the passenger can view real-time data of the entire fleet. Once a passenger has booked their cruise they will be able to see the itinerary, activities and general information for their booked cruise ship, all displayed in the same interface as they will experience on board. Throughout the passenger’s actual cruise, the cruise liner’s marketing department is able to upload relevant content such as journey or onboard highlights, destinations and activities. And the passenger’s journey does not have to end once they are back on shore. The personal digital logbook provides a wonderful overview of the trip and enables the cruise company to provide additional information about other routes.
VXcruise is a dynamic communication tool for cruise companies which enables them to correspond, to share information and to engage with their passengers before the start of the journey until long after it has finished. On board, the system can be displayed via the vessel’s installed TV’s and for a more interactive passenger experience, it is also possible for it to be transferred to personal devices or onboard touchscreens.
Last week our Technical Team went to Germany to discuss the future prospect of the partnership between TUI and Oculius Technologies. Other ships on the Mein Schiff Fleet will have VXcruise onboard as well!
Mein Schiff 6, was launched last June, is almost 300 metres long, features 15 decks and can carry approximately 2700 passengers. VXcruise is available as TV-channel in all 1267 cabins of the ship.
TUI Cruises is a Germany-based joint venture between the German Tourist company TUI AG and the American cruise operator, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. TUI started operations in 2009. Its concept is aimed at German-speaking holiday makers who opt for premium experiences tailored to German tastes and the main language used on board of all TUI Mein Schiffs is German. TUI’s 'Mein Schiff’ fleet currently consists of 6 ships. Mein Schiff 3, 4 and 5 have already been launched and Mein Schiff 1 & 2 are currently in-build with their launches expected in 2018 and 2019.
We are delighted to be part of this new project which focuses on innovation in the cruise industry!
